These paintings are all done in oil. The first four images are painted on the original glass of antique window panes. The panes are white with the original brass latches intact.
The black pearl paintings are painted on 3/4" pine. They measure 4' X 2' 5". The football painting is also on the pine and is 4' X 2'10".
As with my drawings and acrylic murals, I have had no training with oils. Using the glass in the window pane is somewhat challenging with this medium. However, I love the look, as if your seeing the image through an old window. As for the wood, I have always loved wood work. My father was an amazing carpenter and as I child I spent most my time with him in his shop. I sand the wood till it is completely smooth, then router the edges. In my teen years I would paint pictures of horses on wood, router, then cut them into a puzzle with a jig saw. I hope to make more of them in the future.
